Sam Nombe came through the MK Dons academy, joining the club at under-11 level before signing his first professional contract in 2017. He made his first-team debut in the League Cup against Forest Green Rovers and later made his league debut against Blackpool.
Nombe spent time on loan with Oxford City and Maidenhead United before establishing himself in the Dons’ first team during the 2019/20 season. He scored five goals in 25 appearances, earning a new contract under Russell Martin.
After a loan spell with Luton Town, Nombe left MK Dons for Exeter City in 2021. He finished his Dons career with 46 appearances and six goals, leaving as another academy graduate to make his mark in the first team.
In July 2026, Nombe returned to MK Dons after an impressive spell with Exeter and Rotherham United.
