Football League give permission to change the name from Wimbledon FC to Milton Keynes Dons FC in time for the fixture list publication.

 

10th July 2004

MK Dons play their first friendly against Newport Pagnell Town winning 3-0 at Willen Road.

 

29th July 2004

MK Dons complete their first transfer other than a free transfer with Izale McLeod joining from Derby County for £150,000. 

 

Saturday 7th August 2004

First competitive fixture. MK Dons 1 - 1 Barnsley.

 

Saturday 21st August 2004

MK Dons win and score their first penalty in a 3-1 defeat to Bournemouth at the National Hockey Stadium. Allan Smart scored the penalty. 

 

Saturday 7th November 2004 

MK Dons sack manager Stuart Murdoch after a 4-1 loss to Bristol City. Assistant Manager Jimmy Gilligan and Steve Palmer took temporary charge.

 

Tuesday 7th December 2004

MK Dons appoint Danny Wilson as their new manager.

 

Saturday 7th May 2005

MK Dons avoid relegation to League Two thanks to a Gareth Edds double in a 2-1 victory over Tranmere Rovers.

 

Tuesday 20th December 2005

Sam Baldock becomes the first academy graduate to make an MK Dons appearance coming off the bench against Colchester United in an LDV Vans Trophy game. 

 

Saturday 6th May 2006

MK Dons are relegated to League Two following a 0-0 draw with Rotherham.

 

Wednesday 10th May 2006

MK Dons part company with manager Danny Wilson.

 

21st June 2006

Martin Allen is appointed as the new MK Dons manager.

 

30th August 2006

MK Dons sign Keith Andrews on a 3 year deal from Hull City on a free transfer.

 

Tuesday 25th October 2006

MK Dons host Tottenham Hotspur at the National Hockey Stadium as they lose 5-0 in the Carling Cup.

 

20th January 2007

Clive Platt scores the first MK Dons hat-trick in a 3-1 victory over Barnet at the National Hockey Stadium.

 

18th May 2007

The last game at the National Hockey Stadium is played. A 2-1 defeat to Shrewsbury Town in the playoff Semi Final second leg.

 

25th May 2007

Martin Allen is named new Leciester City manager.

 

25th June 2007

Paul Ince is named MK Dons' new manager.

 

18th July 2007

StadiumMK hosts it's first match against Chelsea in what was dubbed a 'ramp up' game with 4,477 in attendance. MK Dons won 4-3. 

 

9th August 2007

Record goalscorer, Izale Mcleod joins Charlton Athletic for a fee upwards of 1 Million. 

 

11th August 2007

StadiumMK hosts its first competitive game. A 2-1 defeat against Bury.

MK Dons win their first trophy as a club beating Grimsby Town 2-0 in the Johnstone Paint Trophy Final at Wembley Stadium.

MK Dons win promotion to Coca Cola League One following a 3-2 victory away at Stockport County.

MK Dons win Coca Cola League Two following a 2-1 victory away at Bradford City.

Paul Ince leaves MK Dons to take up the managers role at Blackburn Rovers.

MK Dons draw 1-1 on aggregate with Scunthorpe United in the Playoff Semi Final but lose 7-6 on penalties.

George C Williams becomes MK Dons youngest goalscorer at 16 years and 65 days scoring in the FA Cup victory over Nantwich Town.

MK Dons lose 4-1 on aggregate to Huddersfield Town in the Playoff Semi Final.

MK Dons beat AFC Wimbledon in the first between the two sides thanks to Jon Otsemobor's last minute "Heel of God" goal.

MK Dons beat Premier League side QPR 4-2, at Loftus Road in the FA Cup 4th Round.

MK Dons lose to Barnsley 3-1 in the 5th round of the FA Cup. The furthest they have got in the competition.

MK Dons beat Manchester United 4-0 in the League Cup 2nd Round.

MK Dons beat Oldham Athletic 7-0 to record their biggest victory.

Dele Alli joins Tottenham Hotspur for £5 Million but is loaned back to MK Dons for the remainder of the season.

MK Dons win promotion to the Championship on the final day of the season thanks to a 5-1 win over Yeovil Town and Preston losing to Colchester.
