Ryan Wintle joined MK Dons in July 2026 on a free transfer, bringing extensive EFL experience to the Dons’ midfield. The right-footed defensive midfielder arrived after five years with Cardiff City, where he made more than 150 appearances across all competitions.
Born in Newcastle-under-Lyme in June 1997, Wintle began his professional career with Crewe Alexandra, making 186 appearances and scoring 11 goals. He also spent time on loan with Blackpool before moving permanently to Cardiff in 2021.
Wintle enjoyed an outstanding 2025/26 season with Cardiff, making 46 appearances, scoring once and providing seven assists. He was named Cardiff City Player of the Season as the club secured an immediate return to the Championship.
