Thompson-Sommers joined MK Dons from FC Halifax Town on 30 August 2024 for an undisclosed fee. The London-born midfielder had previously developed in the academies of Tottenham Hotspur and Birmingham City, before establishing himself in non-league football with Woking, Hereford and Halifax.

He made 23 league appearances and scored twice in his first season, before making a further 19 league appearances and scoring once in 2025–26. He moved to Bristol Rovers on loan in January 2026 for the remainder of the season.
