Gethin Jones joined MK Dons on a free transfer from Bolton Wanderers in July 2025, bringing extensive experience to the Dons’ defence. The Australian-born right-back quickly became a regular during the 2025/26 campaign, making 35 League Two appearances, scoring once and providing two assists.

His first MK Dons goal came in the impressive 5–1 victory at Gillingham on 10 March 2026. Jones played an important role as the Dons finished runners-up in League Two, securing promotion back to League One.
