Daniel Barlaser joined MK Dons on a free transfer from Middlesbrough on 4 July 2026, following a season-long loan with Scottish Premiership side Hibernian. The 29-year-old central midfielder began his professional career with Newcastle United before establishing himself at Rotherham United, where he made more than 130 appearances, and later spent three seasons with Middlesbrough.

Barlaser arrives at Stadium MK with extensive EFL experience, having played regularly in both League One and the Championship. During his time at Rotherham, he was particularly influential, earning the League One Player of the Month award for December 2021 after scoring four goals.
