Robbie Neilson

Role: Manager

Date Of Birth: 19th June 1980

Appointed: 2nd December 2016

Left role: 20th January 2018

Robbie Neilson became MK Dons manager in December 2016, arriving from Scottish Premiership side Hearts to replace Karl Robinson. He inherited a Dons side struggling near the bottom of League One and was tasked with stabilising the club following their relegation from the Championship.

Neilson made an immediate impact, guiding MK Dons to a 1–0 victory over AFC Wimbledon in his first league game in charge. His first season ended with the Dons finishing 12th in League One, a significant improvement from the relegation battle he inherited.

The 2017/18 campaign proved much more difficult. A poor run of form saw MK Dons fall into the relegation places, and after a 2–1 defeat at Northampton Town in January 2018, Neilson left the club by mutual consent.
