Richie Barker
Role: Caretaker
Date Of Birth: 30th May 1975
Appointed: 23rd October 2016
Left role: 20th December 2016
Richie Barker has enjoyed two spells at MK Dons, working closely with Karl Robinson before later returning to the club alongside Paul Warne.
Barker first joined the Dons in 2014 as part of Robinson’s coaching staff. He played an important role behind the scenes during the club’s historic 2014/15 campaign, when MK Dons secured promotion to the Championship for the first time in their history.
Following Robinson’s departure in October 2016, Barker took temporary charge of the first team. He was caretaker manager for eight matches before Robbie Neilson was appointed in December.
After spells with Charlton, Rotherham and Derby, Barker returned to Stadium MK in April 2025 as Paul Warne’s assistant. The pair had previously worked together at Rotherham and Derby, making the MK Dons appointment a reunion for the long-time coaching partnership.
