Mike Williamson

Role: Head Coach

Date Of Birth: 8th November 1983

Appointed: 17th October 2023

Left role: 19th September 2024

Mike Williamson was appointed MK Dons head coach on 17 October 2023, replacing Graham Alexander. He arrived at Stadium MK after an impressive spell as player-manager of Gateshead, where he had guided the club to promotion from the National League North and established an attacking, possession-based style of football.

Williamson made an immediate impact. MK Dons won 10 of his first 15 matches, and his excellent run of results in December 2023 earned him the EFL League Two Manager of the Month award.

He guided the Dons to fourth place in League Two during the 2023/24 season, finishing with 78 points and securing a play-off place. However, their promotion campaign ended in disappointing fashion as they suffered an 8–1 aggregate defeat to Crawley Town in the semi-finals.

Williamson remained in charge at the beginning of the 2024/25 season, but MK Dons made a poor start, losing four of their opening six league matches. On 19 September 2024, he left the club to become head coach of Carlisle United after Carlisle activated a release clause in his contract.
