Stuart Murdoch
Date Of Birth: 17th August 1950
Appointed: Continuation from Wimbledon FC
Left MK Dons: 8th November 2004
Stuart Murdoch was born in Blackpool on 17 August 1950. He previously worked alongside Glenn Roeder at Watford before joining Wimbledon in 1996 as goalkeeping coach.
In June 2002, Murdoch was appointed Wimbledon manager following a successful spell as caretaker manager. He replaced Terry Burton, who had been critical of the club’s owners over the proposed relocation to Milton Keynes.
Murdoch guided Wimbledon to a tenth-place finish in the First Division during the 2002–03 season. Following the club’s move to Milton Keynes, however, results declined. Wimbledon finished bottom of the First Division and suffered the longest losing run in the division’s history at the time. During the summer, the club was renamed Milton Keynes Dons.
Murdoch was dismissed in November 2004, with the club in the League One relegation zone.
He later held coaching positions with Bournemouth, Norwich City, Millwall, Southampton and Gillingham. He is currently involved with Fleetwood Town FC and can be seen at MK Dons games occasionally.
